The RRR Media Campaign is a collaborative program of Jackson Community Recycling, Habitat for Humanity and the Teton Sustainability Project of the Murie Center. Over the past three years, the RRR Campaign has sought to reach local residents and businesses through multi-media advertising in an effort to promote a more ecologically-savvy Jackson Hole. The community has enthusiastically received the message of the campaign, resulting in increased recycling rates, reusable shopping bag and coffee mug usage, and Green Power subscriber numbers through Lower Valley Energy.
The first phase of the campaign in 2004-5 focused on high-profile Jackson Hole residents that encouraged the community to adopt the RRR lifestyle. The second phase in 2005-6 highlighted local individuals’ unique RRR stories. In partnership with the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, the third phase of the campaign in 2006-7 publicized local businesses making an effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle in their daily operations as part of the RRR Business Leaders program. The fourth phase of the campaign, which commenced on February 1, 2008, continues to highlight and promote RRR trends occurring throughout Jackson Hole. Special new components of the campaign include BYO Reusable Mug and BYO Reusable Shopping Bag initiatives, the latter featuring a prize give-away at Jackson Whole Grocer, Westside Store & Deli, and Hungry Jack's General Store.
